Life, Lived Better – Outdoors

February 2023 Newsletter

Welcome to our 2nd newsletter!  We are still working on the kinks and wrinkles of our New Blog Posts & Newsletters, but we hope you are enjoying them so far.

What can I say, January is over.  Kinda felt like a post-Holiday hangover.  Cold weather, recuperating from all the running around during the Holidays, and settling back into a “normal” routine with school (for the kids) and work (for the adults).  Actually, on 2nd thought, it was kind of nice after these last few years of Covid and after-Holiday lockdowns, shutdowns, and the like.  At the same time though, I found myself trying to get my groove back and get centered before the next events of the year – Spring Break, Easter, & Summer – They will all be here before you know it.  And let’s not forget Valentine’s Day! Oh no, DO NOT FORGET that day.

Speaking of Valentine’s Day, one of my favorite Chuck Jones/Warner Bros./Loony Tunes cartoons is Pepé Le Pew.   Not only does the month of February remind me of this colorful character, I had a real-life encounter with some of his friends (actually 14 of them) a few weeks ago.  Under my house.  It was a smelly affair. I’ll share the story in a couple of weeks on our weekly blog.

The reaction to our new showroom design and updated furniture groups has been phenomenal.  Thanks to everyone who helped make it possible.  It was an exciting challenge to update all of our displays and bring you more of the designs that you are craving.  You are the reason we are here, without you there would be no Patio World, and for that we are forever grateful.

Have a great month and remember, 1st day of Spring is next month!

Warm Regards

Wayne Romain

Out & About

Solid Teak Sofa Collection

Our New Laguna Collection. Solid Construction, Ultra Design

→ If you are French, have French lineage, or “identify” as French ;-), and get a little upset about the Pepé Le Pew stereotypes, you are not alone https://frenchtogether.com/pepe-le-pew/

→ Do you like reading? Of course, you do, or you wouldn’t be here.  Check out what has become THE most important literary event in Southern California.  Right here in Riverside, CA and it’s FREE!  https://writersweek.ucr.edu/

→Google saw a +500% increase in the search “Vacation Discounts” last year. While I love to travel, investing that money into my backyard has allowed me to get the same feelings, emotions, and experiences that I get from traveling, but on an everyday basis https://outdoorrooms.com/company/advice/transform-your-backyard-into-an-oasis-with-these-tips/

→I’ve been eating here for over 20 years and happy to see more are “discovering” this place.  Great food, yes.  Eclectic, yes.  Weird, yes.  Tio’s Tacos    https://matadornetwork.com/watch/tios-tacos-riverside-california/

→ Sounds a little indecent, but we assure you it’s not.  https://www.gardenista.com/posts/garden-decoder-crevice-gardening/

→ One of our favorite “Friends” episodes – Pivot!  Well, this UK company did not.  So, they decided to abandon the sofa delivery on a staircase. Unbelievable https://people.com/home/couch-stuck-in-staircase-photos-delivery-men-abandon-furniture/

Cindy & Bobby sent this picture of Ringo (@ringo_star2019 on Instagram). Taking a break and enjoying the view on a recent hike in the La Sierra Hills area behind La Sierra University. Thanks for sending the pic, your treats are on the way!

La Última Palabra (The Last Word)

Note: Sorry about last month’s misspellings of the title (my wife, Damaris, gently pointed out the error of my ways).

Quote for the Month:

“[Y]ou have such a February face, so full of frost, of storm and cloudiness”

― Shakespeare, Much Ado About Nothing

Good ole’ Bill (aka Mr. Positivity) gives us his glowing outlook on life again.  Thankfully, being in southern California, our February face can be full of sunshine, of warmth and clarity.  And even if it is not, remember that life, like the weather, will definitely change. Often, for the better.

We always welcome your comments, suggestions, and ideas.  We want this to be a community, so feel free to share and contribute.  We might reach out to you for a future collaboration!  You can leave a message here or email us at patioworld@patioworldonline.com

Whether at home or out in the wild, take it all in.  Remember that life is truly lived better outdoors.

Take care,

WR
